What great testimony and service. Thank You. I cannot imagine the depth of the issue in Detroit, it is bad enough here in the FL Panhandle. God Bless your ministry.

First, off I would love to help people in need that's one thing that I've always wanted to do. Is to help people. With that money I would start my own foundation "Second Chance In Life Foundation" helping the homeless get a second chance in life. Which this opportunity is that I would bring the homeless to my foundation which will be giving them a home, food, clothing, employment opportunities. I would love to build my own community which is a small or large community of apartments for the homeless, families that are losing there homes, single mothers etc. I really want to do this.

I want to thank you for writing about this subject on this blog! I am an alcoholic whom has been through rehab twice and am discovering the beauty of sobriety.

I have become a contributor to a great website called sobriety.org

It is my hope that sobriety.org will become a focal point run by the sober community for the sober community. I look forward to hearing from many of you and developing this website into a powerful life saving tool, even if only for one or two people. Consider this site your community for a happy and sober life!

My first knowledge of The Detroit Rescue Mission was watching a program on television explaining the program and its purpose. My heart reached out to the many people who told of their addictions, criminal life and human life struggles. I called the Center and made a donation. I like the concept of "changing one life at a time."

I sent a letter to the Mission requesting a partnership with them in working to "change one thought at a time." My book The Unfolding of a Rose seeks to do that. Presently, I am awaiting a response.

I agree with Dr. Chad Audi, It is extremely important for recovering addicts to reconnect with their families, churches and the community. They need to know that someone cares about them and their future. After the rehabilitation it's better for them to have something to do to avoid using drugs again. thanks for this post.
